Here you will find information about various areas of Psychology and Evolutionary Theory that I am interested and involved in:
as a lecturer in Counselling , both employed and freelance, facilitating continuing professional development workshops, particularly for Counsellors and therapists.
as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice, including voluntary work for a charity.
as an author of articles and book reviews, promoting greater understanding of human behaviour through psychology. I am also an active member of various organisations, including the British Psychological Society, where I am currently vice chair of the Psychotherapy Section, and the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society as European contact.
In my therapy, teaching roles and writing, I am increasingly integrating an evolutionary approach into my work. I believe that looking at ourselves in the light of how our minds, emotions and bodies have evolved to work the way they have, brings a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complexity of life, and greater compassion in how we relate to each other and the world.
